Welcome to ABC Massage Bunbury’s very first blog post


We are a brand-new massage and wellness centre to Bunbury.

Located at 96 Spencer street and operated by me, Amin, we aim to provide tailored treatments designed to relieve pain, restore movement, and support your overall wellbeing.

Today we will focus on how to Relieve Lower Back Pain (Bunbury Guide)

Lower back pain is one of the most common issues we see at ABC Massage & Wellness Centre in Bunbury. Whether it’s caused by long hours sitting, physical work, or general muscle tension, it can affect your daily life and overall wellbeing.

The good news is that with the right approach, lower back pain can be effectively managed and often significantly reduced.

 

 What Causes Lower Back Pain?

Lower back pain can develop from a number of everyday factors, including:

  • Poor posture (especially sitting for long periods and working on a computer)

  • Muscle strain from lifting or physical work

  • Tight hips and hamstrings

  • Stress and tension held in the body

Over time, these issues can lead to stiffness, discomfort, and restricted movement.

 

Simple Ways to Reduce Lower Back Pain

1. Improve Your Posture

Small adjustments to how you sit and stand can make a big difference. Keep your back supported, shoulders relaxed and avoid slouching. My husband occasionally uses a posture sling to help his posture as he is tall and always slouching. (He gets annoyed when I keep telling him to stand up straight!) He says it helps he just doesn’t wear it enough.

 

2. Stay Active

Gentle movement like walking or stretching helps keep muscles loose and prevents stiffness from building up. Try some gentle stretches every morning. Only takes a few minutes and it’s a great way to start the day

 

3. Stretch Regularly

Focus on:

  • Hamstrings

  • Hip flexors

  • Lower back

Even 5–10 minutes a day can help relieve tension.

 

4. Apply Heat

Heat packs can help relax tight muscles and improve blood flow to the affected area. We often use wheat bags as they contour around your back when seated. Be sure to sit up straight and stretch as well.

 

5. Check your sleeping mattress

Old and cheap mattresses are not too kind on our backs. Most Chinese people sleep on firm mattresses as it keeps our bodies straight, but I admit most people don’t like a hard mattress. (My husband for one!) Just make sure your mattress has good support so you don’t wake up feeling stiff and sore.
